You've stepped through into the wonderful chapter of your life when you can maybe start to focus on new things; things you'd always wanted to do. Maybe it's a change of direction, or re-stating old boundaries that had become blurred. This is your time to let that wisdom and knowledge shine through!

 

Do you know why we go through menopause? Have you ever wondered if other animals go through it too?

 

The answer is that not many animals do have this period in their life.

One species that do are orca whales. They are similar to humans in that their young are dependant on the mothers for quite a long time. The mothers end up having new babies while still having quite dependant 'toddlers' hanging around.

If you have ever experienced that, or if you have seen mums dragging around screaming toddlers while carrying a baby then you'll know it's tough!

What orca whales have are the matriarchs of the pod. They are the wise, older whales who have gone through the menopause. They help the mothers bring up the young ones for the good of the community.

And it doesn't stop there. Those wise older whales carry the knowledge of the pod - where to go to for the good feeding grounds, where to go to mate, to find shelter, to be safe. They are the ones who keep it all together!

 

Imagine if this time of life means that YOU step into YOUR wisdom!

 

Whatever roles you play in life - whether you are mother, aunt, grandmother, boss, leader, team worker - think about how you can step up and really be a great leader and role model to the women following you.

 

Three quick tips to help you step up and lead in your life....
 
1. Get Clear On Where You Are Now
 
It’s hard to see a path forward without knowing where you stand. If you spend hours trying to sort out what you want, what you love to do, and how to be yourself – or even believe in yourself, you’re really not alone.

 

It’s totally normal to sometimes find yourself feeling stuck by all the choices out there. Maybe you are actually happy right now, where you are in life. But if you do feel stuck, unfulfilled, like you're not really living life the way you want - you’ve got to take action… If you don’t, you might give up your power.

 

Instead, try turning inwards and taking stock of your current circumstances. What’s lifting you up? And what’s weighing you down? What is blocking you from being the woman you want to be?

 
2. Investigate Your Limiting Beliefs
 
Sometimes it’s the smallest things that hold us back the most. This isn’t to suggest that beliefs are something to turn your nose up at – they’re a powerful, life-shifting force… But they’re also easily overlooked.

 

Why? Well, it’s hard to objectively examine something you’ve always understood as a fundamental truth.

 

Maybe no one has ever encouraged you to turn your gaze inwards and examine the thoughts that underlie your actions and inaction – I would love to be that person. Because I know for sure that your beliefs have so much to do with your current circumstances.

 
3. Take Small Steps Towards Your Goal
 
Once you’ve gained a bit of clarity about your life’s purpose, set some mini-goals to help get you there. Think of things you can take immediate action on. Small actions that grow and become helpful habits.

 

Setting yourself bite-sized goals will give you a sense of achievement and build up your confidence. So when it’s time to step into your wisdom and truly be a leader in your life, you feel fully capable.

Menopause is a time of change, like other changes you have been through all your life. It's a door to a new place, the start of a new chapter and that can be incredibly exciting!

 

For now though, focus on where you currently are in your life, and where you want to be.

 

Perhaps, like many women you often feel unbalanced, stressed, out of kilter. Do you struggle to manage your work, family and life successfully? Maybe you feel that you are trying to juggle too many balls, never quite managing to be your best at anything?

 

Three quick tips to help you find balance and a clearer sense of purpose in amongst the juggle
